A Day Out in the Country

A DAY OUT IN THE COUNTRY

An adult Wedge taíled eagle hovered in the sky as large, puffy clouds rolled quickly south and the day drew close to noon. It was autumn and the gum trees on the ridge were making their annual donation of brown stained leaves to the wet surface below. In the distance, a herd of cattle moved slowly in Indian file towards their favourite resting spot near the creek’s edge.

It was here that the Jones family were busily preparing the picnic lunch which they would share with their overdue guests, the Harris family. At l. 15 p.m., exactly 60 minutes late, Mr and Mrs Harris and their three children arrived. Mr Jones had already collected enough Wood to light a to boil the billy.

Meanwhile, as the four adults chattered around the fire site, the seven children played cricket close to the babbling water of the creek.

enchanted forest

Once upon a time I Robert   boarded the boat known as the goliath  to take me  to the enchanted forest on the island of death. As i boarded the boat i  met a man named george “ hiya mate “ called george as i looked at the enormous size of the mast . he took me inside of the captain’s nest to meet the captain and for a cup of coffee. As he asks for my name, I ask him “ why do you need my name?”  There was no response, so i told  him my name  “ my name is Robert, what is yours? “”I asked and he told me that it was classified so we started our journey. 3 hours from shore we finally made it to the island of death. As I jumped off the boat I got slapped by a crab hidden deep inside of the sand. It tried to slap me again but it was grabbed by the captain that surprisingly was awake from his 3 hour nap as he grabbed it and started to talk. The crab told me that his name was Bob the slapping crab. Bob told me that there was a gem in the enchanted forest overwhelmed with greed the captain drooped Bob and told his crew to search the forest for the gem. I asked him “ are you sure about this? “ he told me not to worry as I followed him into the enchanted forest . As we were walking I stared in amazement at the tower trees with leaves as green as the grass. 2 hours from the boat we finally found the gem but in are  way there was the guard of the gem named tj the stone giant . as we tried to get past by the giant but in an instant we were spotted and swatted like a fly at a big diner  getting hit by a tea towel at least half of the crew was sent flying into the air. It took at least 4 hours to take the beast down once we had the gem in our sights. The captain tried to take it all for himself but when he grabbed it he was electrocuted till he was only bones . as we approached the gem with caution i grabbed it hoping that i don’t get  electrocuted when all of a sudden i teleported back on the boat with the gem so i sail back to the mainland with the gem the end

SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY

Flies hovered around the kitchen, looking for a suitable place to land.

Mrs Stevens carefully opened the hot oven and took out the two dozen small cakes inside. They were to be part of a surprise birthday party for her son, who would be home soon from school. After cooling the cakes by the open window, she began to decorate them with icing, cream and ‘hundreds and thousands’. Then she put them onto a large serving plate and took them to the dining table where she covered them with a brightly embroidered cloth over the cakes.

On the table were six cups and a similar number of knives, forks and serviettes. A birthday card with a picture on the front of a large cake with ten candles burning brightly sat at one end of the jarrah table.

Rain began to drip slowly down the drainpipe outside as Mrs Stevens removed her apron and hurried outside to the utility in the tin shed. Soon she was speeding down the rough and bumpy road to the bus stop. She was just in time to see a happy looking Shane waving goodbye to Mrs Johnson, the bus driver.
